I’m a documentary filmmaker working mainly with musicians, movement artists, and cultural institutions. Before moving into film, I founded a sustainable dance community in Cairo, where I spent several years working as a pianist, dance instructor, and community organizer.
I studied fine art at the Berlin University of the Arts, focusing on photography, sound, and installation, and also completed studies in mathematics at the Free University of Berlin. I later completed a six-month full-time training program in film editing.
These experiences shape how I work as a documentary director, with a strong sense for cultural context and an understanding of different artistic practices.

Alongside film projects, I also take on work in photography and editing. I'm proficient in Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve, including color grading.
My debut short film “Sou’oud – Mahraganat – From Street to Stage” (2025) will premiere at Festival de Marseille in July 2026.
My work has been funded and presented by institutions including Goethe-Institut Cairo, Arab Fest Pilsen, Theater Bielefeld, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Uferstudios Berlin, Berliner Bühnen, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Talent im Land Baden-Württemberg, and Baden-Württemberg Stiftung.
I work across English, German, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, and Egyptian Arabic.
